I finally got back to reading Reckless Daughter by David Yaffe, which is subtitled ‘A Portrait of Joni Mitchell’. I got a ARC e-copy via NetGalley, but did not get round to it until now. A shame, because this is a wonderfully written biography that tells Joni’s tale with vivid brush strokes and from more than one side. The author digs into her discography with a passion for music that you cannot help but sucked into. And tales of her personal life are told with integrity, sometimes harsh, sometimes funny, sometimes sad. I have about ten percent left to read, but I already know I will be checking out all those Joni Mitchell songs I had forgotten about.
I started the third book in The Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan, The Dragon Reborn, on Wednesday. I have not read that much of it yet, only just over a hundred pages, but I have read it before and I know it’s a good one! I am reading it for a buddy read at Goodreads. I will start sprinting through it soon enough, I expect! 🙂
