I have not really been around for a week or so. Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas! I am visiting family in England and the Internet has been playing up. Actually, I think it was good to take a break from the World Wide Web and just enjoy some family time. I have been reading a bit more, taking some walks and generally recharging my batteries, which I think is what I needed.
A few days left of 2017 and I had set my reading goals for December quite low anyway. I did not end up reading A Winter Flame (Milly Johnson) as I planned, but I may read it in January to hold on to a bit of that Christmas spirit. Am I allowed to read Christmassy books in January?
I am reading Assassin’s Apprentice by Robin Hobb at the moment, albeit still a bit slowly. I am really enjoying it and I have just ordered the rest of the trilogy. Sometimes the speed of reading does not say that much about how much I like the book. I am reading a physical copy of this book and for some reason I have been finding it easier to read something else on my brand spanking new Kindle.
The book I was reading on my Kindle was By A Charm and a Curse by Jaime Questell, which was an ARC I asked for at NetGalley. I just finished it today and I loved it. It was quite an easy uncomplicated read and I think that helped me. Review should be up soon!
I do not have any ARCs that I have to read in January, so I just browsed my Kindle books. I usually order them when they are on a 99p offer, cause I am that much of a scrooge. 😉 I finally settled on The Invisible Library by Genevieve Cogman about five minutes ago. It sounds like my kind of story and at the moment I just want to read what I am in the mood for.
What are your reading? Let me know! Also, would love to hear if you have read any of the above books.
