Music Monday: ‘This Scene Is Dead’ – We Are Scientists

MusicMonday

I am following Drew’s example and am sharing a song I love with you guys on this Monday. If you fancy it, please do the same and link back to Drew’s blog, The Tattooed Book Geek.

We Are Scientists, an awesome band from New York, who definitely do not take themselves too seriously, showcased their new single today. I am not quite sure about that one yet. I like the beat, but am not quite loving it at this point, so I thought I would offer one of their old tunes. They sort of make danceable indie and are so much fun live, when they combine catchy tunes with improv funny chat. Allround great guys in my opinion. The fact that they are not that popular is perfect for me – they suit small venues really well. Looking forward to seeing them again in May.

This Scene Is Dead is probably my favourite track off their first album With Love and Squalor and they often open their gigs with it and immediately makes me want to dance. It makes me so happy! And can I just say I love this video. It’s so ridiculously cheap!

The scene is dead, but I’m still restless
An hour till the last call I guess
I shouldn’t even be here much less
Drinking myself into excess
But I’m not going home till I’m done
Well, go on get gone
Go on and get gone
Go on; you can’t go home
The night is young
I’m blacking out
But it’s been fun
Well, everything’s another excuse
To keep you doing what I want to
Look, I would really love to kiss you
But I guess I’m in no condition
I’m not going home with no one
Well, go on, get gone
Go on and get gone
Go on; you can’t go home
The night is young
I’m blacking out
But it’s been fun
Well, I’m not going home with no one
Not going home with no one
Not going home with no one
Well, go on, get gone
Go
With Love and Squalor.jpg
