Top 5 Tuesday: Cover Buys

A Top 5 after my own heart! Thanks Shanah (Bionic Book Worm) for this wonderful subject!

I have been known to buy books for their cover. Even if there is a book I really want to read, I will try and pick the prettiest cover. I will try and include books I bought purely because of the cover, without knowing much about it.

So without further ado.

Atkinson, Kate - Life After Life

1. Life After Life (Kate Atkinson)

It has a fox on the cover! Isn’t that enough? I found this one in a charity shop last month. I love foxes, and this one is SO cute! The rest of the cover design is a bit meh, but, but, but THE FOX!!! I have since been told it is actually quite a good book, so I am looking forward to reading it.

Dunmore, Helen - Talking to the Dead2. Talking To The Dead (Helen Dunmore)

I bought this book because of it its cover about fifteen years ago. It’s a little hardback. The title and author name are holes to the naked hardback. It is just so lovely!

I finally got round to reading it last year. The story was ok, but I did not love it, so I do not think I will ever read ita gain. The book itself however, will forever have a place on my shelf, because it is so pretty!

Call me shallow! 🙂

Walton, Leslye - The Strange and Beautiful Sorrows of Ava Lavender

3. The Strange and Beautiful Sorrows of Ava Lavender (Leslye Walton)

As soon as I saw this book floating about the Interweb I wanted it. I love that blue cover and the feather design. I have had it a few months, but have not read it yet.

So pretty!

Bronte, Charlotte - Jane Eyre

4. Jane Eyre (Charlotte Brontë) Penguin Clothbound Classics

I just needed to own some of those gorgeous Penguin Clothbound Classics, so I chose this one and I also have Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë)

Garland, Rosie - Vixen

5. Vixen (Rosie Garland)

I though I would include my latest purchase and yes, it’s another fox! But seriously, isn’t this the most gorgeous cover? I saw it and I needed it. Officially it is not in my possession yet, but it’s on its way and I just needed to include it!
