This novel, set at the Pembrokeshire coast, was such a delight, a wonderful summer read.

This is about a group of thirty-something friends who spend a week in a cottage by the  sea (duh!). I really enjoyed meeting Ella, Flick and Grace and their respective partners. I raced through this book surprisingly quickly. It was such a fun and easy read.

It was very predictable and probably about 100 pages longer than it needed to be, but overall I enjoyed Matthews’ writing. I do wish she had spent a little more time actually describing their surroundings, because the book is set at a stunning bit of British coast. However, I understand this book was not about that; it was about the relationships between all the characters and the author handled that part very well. The romance was a bit instant, but at the same time it was a bit of a slowburn, so I did like it.  Although the ending was predictable, it was still satisfying.

I thoroughly enjoyed it and if you like summery chicklit you will like this one.
