Clare, Alys - The Angel in the GlassWhat am I currently reading?

I have started The Angel in the Glass by Alys Clare today. It’s a murder mystery novel set in Devon (England) in 1604. This is a NetGalley ARC. I read one of Alys Clare’s other books and really enjoyed it, so requested this one. It has a nice feel to it so far – it seems a perfect autumn read!

What did I recently finish reading?

I am getting better at DNFing books, so I have DNFd The Curious Matter of Men With Wings by R Rutledge Hammes. Other people seem to love it, but I read about 16% and just did not get on with it.

I finished Witch Wraith by Terry Brooks yesterday evening. It was ok, but the ending felt rushed and there were a couple of issues. That was a 4* read for me. I also finally sat down today and soaked up the glorious pages of The Lost Words, which has poetry about the natural world by Robert Macfarlane and beautiful illustrations by Jackie Morris. This book is soooooo beautiful. I gave it 6 stars.

What do I think I will read next?

Not sure. It depends on how long it takes me to read The Angel in the Glass. My next NetGalley deadline is not until 25 October, so there is nothing I HAVE to read. I might to a TBR bag grab or if it does take me until the end of the month to finish it, I will pick one of the books on my October TBR.
