It’s already halfway through December – time is going so quick! Too quick? To be honest, I am a spring/summer person as I live in the countryside and late autumn/winter are just bleak bleak bleak!
Anyway, what’s going on with my reading?
What am I currently reading?
I have been reading Wives and Daughters by Elizabeth Gaskell, though I haven’t read on for a couple of days. I am about two thirds of the way through, so I did make good progress in the past week. I am enjoying it for sure. I am pretty confident I will finish it this month.
I have just under a hundred pages to go in The Muse by Jessie Burton. I am on the fence regarding this book. I like it. It’s good, but something about it leaves an unpleasant aftertaste. I am not sure what it is. I hope to finish it today if I can.
What have I recently finished reading?
I read Christmas at Conwenna Cove by Darcie Boleyn, which was cute chick lit and read away really easily. I also read The Light in the Dark by Horatio Clare, which is a non-fiction journal about the winter season and all the emotional turmoil that brings with it. I absolutely loved it and found it completely relatable.
What do I think I will read next?
Well, I have a NetGalley e-ARC due in a week’s time, which is Hunting Annabelle by Wendy Heard. I have read a lot of chick lit recently, so a thriller will shake things up nicely. I hope it’s good! Apart from that I will probably pick one of my Winter Project books, maybe Winterdance?
I have Hunting Annabelle in my gallery waiting to read too!
