Eve has never liked Christmas. So when her adored elderly aunt dies, the last thing she is expecting is to be left a theme park in her will. A theme park with a Christmas theme …
I love a bit of cozy chick lit every now and then, but somehow this missed the mark for me. It had reindeer in it, which made me smile, but the romance was uninteresting and the characters were just a bit meh…
The main character Eve simply annoyed me with her selfish decisions and her ridiculous choices. Sorry, but there are no excuses for a couple of things she did. If I had been the guy, I would have run a mile! No, just no!
For what as far as I can tell is supposed to be a cozy romance novel, the romance simply was not there. There was no chemistry.
I will salute Milly Johnson for drawing attention to the plight of military families and I liked the backdrop of the winter theme park. To be honest, the writing really is not bad. However, I do not think I will be picking up any other books by this author any time soon.
Disappointing, as I had been looking forward to reading this.
