Three women are thrown together on a Mediterranean cruise to celebrate a milestone birthday of the man they all once loved. What could possibly go wrong?
This was such a fun book.
It is written from the point of view of three women, each about a decade older than the other, and they have all been married to Drew Gold, some tabloid newspaper bigshot.
I liked all three women, even Mona, who was clearly a self-entitled B. I really enjoyed her and Sarah’s voices. Tess, the youngest and newest wife, was a bit bland unfortunately compared to Mona and Sarah. I enjoyed watching (reading) the soap opera unfold and the characters being very aware it was like a soap opera. The ending was pretty much what I wanted it to be.
I do wonder whether it would have been a better read if it had been written in first person than in third person. Mainly because each chapter was headed with the wife’s name who was the main character I that bit. I found myself wishing every now and then that it was a first person narrative, as for some reason it jarred a bit.
Overall though, this was a wonderful fun read with a good sense of humour, and I loved the setting of various stops on a Mediterranean cruise. Highly recommended if you like your chick lit light hearted and fun.
