Book Thoughts: Killman Creek (Rachel Caine)

Caine, Rachel - Stillhouse Lake #2 Killman Creek

Title: Killman Creek (Stillhouse Lake #2)
Author: Rachel Caine
Genre: Fiction/Thriller
First published: 2017
Edition: Kindle e-book

Gwen Proctor won the battle to save her kids from her ex-husband, serial killer Melvin Royal, and his league of psychotic accomplices. But the war isn’t over. Not since Melvin broke out of prison. Not since she received a chilling text…

Since the first book (Stillhouse Lake) ended on such a cliffhanger I decided to read the second one pretty much straight away. That doesn’t happen very often!

As a sequel it was pretty solid. It threw me for a few chapters that the point of view kept changing each chapter, but I got used to it soon enough.

Although this one still really kept my attention, I did not feel it had the same ominous tension that the first one did, but it was still pretty ‘thrilling’, so it serves its purpose pretty well.

Although I really enjoyed these first two books in the series, I think I will leave it here. At least for now

5 out of 7 stars
