WWW Wednesdays: 15 July 2020

I have been reading a bit more, so that’s good!

WWW Wednesdays’ home is at Sam’s blog Taking On A World of Words. Check it out!

The three Ws are:

What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you will read next?

What am I currently reading?

I have about 40 pages to go in Uncommon People by David Hepworth, which I am actually listening to on audio. It is read by the author and I simply love the way he narrates it. The book looks at one ‘rockstar’ per year from 1955 until 1994 (from Little Richard to Kurt Cobain) and it has been a fascinating journey.

I am almost halfway through Our Dark Duet, the second (and final) book in V E Schwab’s Monster of Verity series. I am really enjoying it so far. I think I prefer it to the first book.

What have I recently finished reading?

Well, I finally finished Wolf Hall by Hilary Mantel, which to be honest was a bit of a slog. It’s a good book, but I just had trouble focusing on it. It was a bit too dense for me at this moment in time.

I have also finished Mo’ Meta Blues by Ahmir ‘Questlove’ Thompson, which is a memoir of sorts about Questlove’s journey through music. I really enjoyed this one overall.

Pratchett, Terry & Gaiman, Neil - Good OmensWhat do I think I will read next?

I am not entirely sure. Good Omens by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett may be a good one to get into. That one is both on my 2020 TBR and on my #20booksforsummer TBR. It does depend on how long it takes me to read my current reads, as I do want to participate in The Reading Rush next week. We’ll see. I could use Good Omens for one of their prompts.

All the books I have finished so far this month have been books I started in June, so I am not doing great! Hopefully the second half of July will bring me a more peaceful mind for kicking back with a book.

Have a great week!

      1. There is a specific punk rock history book that I can’t remember the entire title of and of course it’s at my mom’s 😑 But it’s green with Sid Vicious on the cover and if I see it again I will let you know because that one is SO COOL. There’s tons of photos and it’s an ordered collection of long quotes. Fantastic!

  1. Oh I do like the sound of Uncommon People, especially as it’s available as an audiobook. Might have to squeeze that in.
I listened to Good Omens on audio too and I enjoyed it but not as much as Pratchett’s solo stuff. Hope you enjoy it!
