What am I currently reading?
I am currently reading Quartet in Autumn by Barbara Pym. It is one of the four books by Barbara Pym I bought from the charity shop last month. I am only 40 odd pages in, but I am enjoying it. It is about four people in their sixties, about to retire. It is not a something I usually read about, which makes it quite interesting. It’s only a small book. so hopefully it won’t take me too long, though I am still a bit slumpy and I am going through books at half my normal pace.
I have paused Wives and Daughters by Elizabeth Gaskell. In my slumpy state, Victorian books are not what I need.
What did I recently finish reading?
I finished Foxes Unearthed earlier today. It was on my TBR many times over the last year, but I never ended up reading it, but this time I did. Partly for Non-Fiction November. I really loved it!
Before that I finished A Thousand Doors, which is an anthology of a variety of lives with the same main character. I though the stories were good, but it was not what I expected.
What do I think I will read next?
My next non-fiction read will probably be Seabiscuit by Laura Hillenbrand, which would be a re-read for me. I loved it the first time I read it many years ago, so hopefully I will love it just as much this time around! My next fiction read is The Path of Daggers, which is the next book in my epic Wheel of Time re-read. So yes, two re-reads!
